My road to oral health

I was not one of the “lucky” ones to be born with healthy pearly whites. It was actually quite the opposite for me. I remember going to the dentist when I was younger but honestly I don’t remember there being a huge emphasis on dental health while I was growing up. As I grew into my teenage years I remember being filled with so much anxiety for those dental appointments. Almost every visit, I’d hear that I needed a cavity or some other procedure.
During this time, the dentist who was treating me was early in his career and still gaining experience, which unfortunately led to a few mistakes that I had to get reconstructed years later.

Even though the process was frustrating, I was committed to improving my dental health. Through years of doing research, I’ve gained a deeper understanding of healthy living and recognized the impact dental health can have on overall wellness. In 2021, I found a holistic dental office in my city and I’ve been going there ever since.

It’s taken several years and a considerable financial investment to reach the point I’m at today. But I can say I am overall pleased.

With the guidance of my holistic dentist, I’ve included some alternative therapies in my care. Some of these included – amalgam removal, root canal removal, onlays, and dental ozone therapy.

‘I’ve also incorporated other products and that aided in my dental health. There is a list of others that are not included in my daily routine

  • Zellie’s – Xylitol mints
  • TRI -OLOGY mouth rinse – blends whole-plant nutrients + essential oils to support healing and protection of your gums and teeth without harmful side effects.
  • Also, try to remember to Floss! This article from “Ask the Dentist” dives into the importance of maintaining the habit of flossing + more.
